I never thought that I would be putting up a Christmas tree wearing shorts! We have decked our humble hall and Christmas music is playing consistently from the mac. I do love this time of year!
Thank you for the prayers and emails last week. Each one was used of the Lord as an encouragement piece in the puzzle of my life. More pieces were added by a busy week of firsts. The first time to give myself a pedicure, my first Marine Corp ball, our first holiday run with the Marines, and our first family vacation together. Each one was better than I could have dreamed. Really. The pedicure? Eh…good enough! Annabelle’s baby bath came in handy and I didn’t have to wait for an appointment. My pedicure then took me to the ball where Barrett was able to share the gospel in his opening prayer at the ball and give complementariansm vows for a couple who renewed their wedding vows during the ceremony….plus we danced the night away in true Craig style. The next day we dressed Annabelle up as an elf and joined the 300 Marines who also donned their holiday best (or worst) for a mile and a half run. It was actually a lot of fun to be in the midst of their colliding cadences! Then we three Craig’s headed off to Okuma for some R & R.
Our cozy room overlooked the beach and after fighting the pack & play, we took a walk along the shore to dinner. The staff loved Annabelle so our service was great. We took a hike to a waterfall, went to the most northern tip of Okinawa to see where the Pacific Ocean and Great China Sea crashed, strolled through banyan trees at a nature park, and had coffee from the only home grown coffee farm in Okinawa. Next, we took a tour of a pineapple park where neither of us wanted pineapple ever again after all the samplings and we pedaled a buggy bike along the outskirts of the military resort where we stayed. All in all a good time with many pictures to remind us of our adventures.
The pedicure is slowly disappearing but the dance continues. Funny how some songs I sit out, others I join enthusiastically, and others I have to be dragged out by friends or family only to have a blast. Such is life on earth with the Lord of the Dance.
